In Episode 136 Ben talks with Dr. Sonia Levy, A Black, Jewish behaviour analyst and lead author on a seminal article in behaviour analysis entitled: A Look In The Mirror: How the Field of Behavior Analysis Can Become Antiracist. This article was written not long after the brutal murder of George Floyd by police in 2020 and the beginning of a new social justice movement that captured the minds and hearts of people all over the world. Many behavior analysts, behavior analytic companies, overarching associations, and certification boards put out statements condemning racism and formed committees and task forces committed to combating racism in the field of behaviour analysis. It's been almost four years since the murder of George Floyd and this conversation serves as a check-in to see how far this field has come.

Episode 98 is an interview with Dr. Evan Auguste, an Assistant Professor of Psychology at the University of Massachusetts Boston and a pre-licensed clinical psychologist at Ma’at Psychological Services. We delved into the concept of Black Liberation psychology, a crucial field aimed at addressing the mental health repercussions of structural anti-Blackness. Dr. Auguste's work focuses on developing community-based health interventions, like the Sawubona Healing Circles, that promote healing through an African-centered framework. We also dive into the history and initiatives of the Association for Black Psychologists.

Episode 95 features a conversation with Claire Zuch, a graduate student in Dr. Jordan Bellisle's HUB lab whose work has been focused on the analysis of ableism and stigma against Autistic folks. Relational Density Theory is a complex and fascinating concept and Claire does a wonderful job of explaining RDT to a novice like myself. Claire notes that RDT is often easier to explain with a visual of something known as a geospace (see below). Claire discusses her plans to continue this research in her doctoral program with Dr. Mark Dixon and the importance of compensating Autistic participants for their labour.
